Is Boston College the worst Power 6 conference basketball team in America?
Like me, many BC fans aren't happy by the way BC played against Wake yesterday. At the game, I bumped into a just-beginning ACC blogger (don't know the site name), and he thought Boston College was the worst power 6 conference team in America. I thought about that for a while, crunched some numbers, and I have some other teams that have struggled so far in the power 6 conferences. We'll start with BC's resume:
1. Boston College
ACC
Record: 7-12 (2-3 ACC)
Key Wins: Clemson, Virginia Tech
Key Losses: Holy Cross, Rhode Island
CBSSports.com RPI Rank: 215
Now to other teams:
2. Texas Tech
Big 12
Record: 7-11 (0-6 Big 12)
Key Wins: Cal State Baskersfield, North Texas
Key Losses: Indiana State, TCU
CBSSports.com RPI Rank: 213
3. Arizona State
Pac-12
Record: 6-13 (2-5 Pac-12)
Key Wins: Wake Forest, Oregon State
Key Losses: Pepperdine, Northern Arizona
CBSSports.com RPI Rank: 191
4. Utah
Pac-12
Record: 5-14 (2-5 Pac-12)
Key Wins: Washington State, Arizona State
Key Losses: Beat a D-3 school by only 3 points, Fresno State, Boise State
CBSSports.com RPI Rank: 258
5. USC
Pac-12
Record: 5-15 (0-7 Pac-12)
Key Wins: South Carolina, TCU
Key Losses: Cal Poly, Arizona State
CBSSports.com RPI Rank: 167 (?)
6. South Carolina
SEC
Record: 8-10 (0-4 SEC)
Key Wins: Clemson, yeah that's about it....
Key Losses: Elon, Tennessee State
CBSSports.com RPI Rank: 192
So what do you guys think? Discuss in the comments.

Based on resume alone, has to be USC. 0-7 in the PAC-12 — which is awful this year — is worse than 2-3 ACC.

It’s a close call between BC and Texas Tech for worst in a Power 5 conference. But BC would be in the top half of the Pac-12. I’m not sure you can really count that conference.
Utah is the worst team by far… Not only do they have a horrible record and are not very good (Granted I haven’t watched them play so my opinion is more than just a bit biased). They were a horrible team before they recently lost their leading scorer. I can only imagine how much worse they will be without him.
