Good stuff so far. I enjoy how Gene started out with the “when I got here in ’97…” crap though.
I just hope that the ATR guys asked some real critical questions concerning football and basketball (not that I don’t like Donahue…I like Donahue, but we average 1,000 fans a game). It would be a shame if Gene wasn’t challenged.
bball attendance
Attendance at our last few home bball games: 5038, 3829, 4583, for an average of 4483.
Attendance is bad because the team is bad. Win some games, and the fans will come. It’s no coincidence that our hockey team routinely fills the same building that the bball team cannot fill — the hockey team won the national title two our of the last four seasons and is currently ranked in the top 5 in the country.
Agreed
A lot of these questions still seemed like softballs. Also love how he starts out discussing money, because, apparently it’s all about the Benjamins, baby.
Also it’s clear he doesn’t know anything about college hockey. This continues to be a good thing.

When has Gene ever answered anything but a softball? Seriously?
If he ever gets one, he throws out some stupid go to saying (Harvard/Bama crap).
Love the ATR guys attempt, but these are virtually pointless. Nothing of substance.
The only fastball questions he’s ever answered he swung and missed, badly.
- Why was Pitt, not UConn, invited to join the ACC?
- What was ESPN’s role in ACC expansion?

They aren’t going to ask any tough questions. I love ATR but I’m sure that BC Athletics set ground rules before they even agreed to the interview.
