I mean who can play soccer at a time like this?
Both the Boston College men's and women's soccer games scheduled for Sunday have been postponed due to the threat of Hurricane Irene. The men were scheduled to host Fairfield. That game has been tentatively rescheduled for Monday, August 29 at 5 PM. The women's team was set to travel to New York to face Hofstra and trust me, you do not want to travel to New York on Sunday. No make-up game has been scheduled.
Putting aside the mild Eagles' soccer scheduling inconvenience, we just wanted to say to all the Boston College alum on the Eastern seaboard, from the Carolinas to Chestnut Hill, be safe this weekend.
I doubt you are coming to BC Interruption to get updates on Hurricane Irene, but you can track the path of the hurricane and find evacuation information here. Here are also some tips to get prepared. You can also get Twitter updates @FEMA.
Let's hope that Irene turns out to be much ado about nothing. On a lighter note, because of the possibility of power outages up and down the East coast, consider printing Spencer's Howard Schnellenberger's Top 25 Hurricane Survival Tips for a good laugh by candlelight over the weekend.
Stay safe, Eagles.
