The hits just keep coming for the BC Eagles. Let's get the bad news from HD out of the way. According to a Boston College press release:

Boston College coach Frank Spaziani has announced that senior safety Dominick LeGrande has decided to transfer and is no longer a member of the football team.

LeGrande (Staten Island, NY) appeared in 11 games last season and registered 21 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Oh boy ... another loss in the secondary. I have to say I'm not totally surprised by this. LeGrande had been kept out of the previous scrimmages next to Okechukwu Okoroha. Not clear on why he transferred, but the problems to the secondary continue to mount.

That now leaves us with Dominique Williams as our starting strong safety, and puts even more pressure on Spaz to find a backup. Hampton Hughes, who has a total of zero starts as a college level safety, had a great scrimmage earlier this week, but do we really want to see him starting in real games against good offenses? Seriously, we are a Williams injury away from Hampton Hughes. Let that settle for a moment.

What is going on in Chestnut Hill right now? Two projected starters are now gone. It makes you wonder whether Spaz is cracking down in the locker room.
