Football is almost here, and along with the games comes the always entertaining prop bets. Bodog.com -- owner of my bank account -- has come out with with their list of "ways to waste your paycheck" I mean prop bets. Let's take a gander at some of the ACC prop bets that are out there:
2011 Atlantic Coast Conference - Who will have the most passing yards per game?
Danny O'Brien (Maryland) +175
E.J. Manuel (Florida State) +350
Sean Renfree (Duke) -120
2011 Atlantic Coast Conference - Who will have the most passing touchdowns?
Danny O'Brien +175
E.J. Manuel +350
Sean Renfree -120
Not surprising that Chase Rettig was left off this list. I expect him to improve tremendously this season, but I just can't see him being a top 3 QB in the ACC and especially not someone I would gamble on. I like Sean Renfree here, Duke is going to throw the ball a ton this year.
2011 Atlantic Coast Conference - Who will have the most rushing yards per game?
Andre Ellington (Clemson) 13/4
Chris Thompson (Florida State) 4/1
David Wilson (Virignia Tech) 27/4
Josh Harris (Wake Forest) 11/2
Lamar Miller (Miami) 7/2
Montel Harris (Boston College) 5/2
2011 Atlantic Coast Conference - Who will have the most rushing touchdowns?
Andre Ellington - 15/4
Chris Thompson- 9/2
David Wilson - 13/2
Josh Harris - 7/2
Lamar Miller- 19/4
Montel Harris- 23/10
I would really love to bet on Montel Harris, I really would. But that knee scares the heck out of me. If I were to put some money on this one I'm pretty sure my money would be on David Wilson. I just expect a huge year out of him.
2011 Atlantic Coast Conference - Who will have the most receiving yards per game?
Conner Vernon (Duke) 4/1
DeAndre Hopkins (Clemson) 11/2
Dwight Jones (North Carolina) 9/4
Jarrett Boykin (Virginia Tech) 15/4
Kris Burd (Virginia) 9/2
Willie Haulstead (Florida State) 21/4
2011 Atlantic Coast Conference - Who will have the most receiving touchdowns?
Conner Vernon - 3/1
DeAndre Hopkins - 11/2
Dwight Jones - 19/4
Jarrett Boykin - 13/4
Kris Burd - 4/1
Willie Haulstead - 7/2
It's too bad that you can't bet the field on this one because I would seriously consider throwing a little cash behind Colin Larmond Jr. Maybe it's stupid, but I just expect him to be the clear #1 for Chase Rettig this season and may surprise a lot of people. But then again Conner Vernon is a real safe bet.
So say you were to place a bet on one of these matchups for entertainment purposes only of course, which of these prop bets would you gamble on?
