The preseason accolades keep rolling in for the Boston College women's soccer team. The Eagles were ranked 6th in the Top 25 of the Soccer America Preseason Poll released on Monday. The ACC dominates the preseason Top 25, placing four teams in the top six spots of the preseason poll.
North Carolina (19-3-2) ranks third, followed by Florida State (16-6-1) at 4, Maryland (18-2-3) at 5 and the Eagles (17-7-1) at 6th. Duke claims the 12th spot in the polls, followed by Virginia at 16 and defending ACC champion Wake Forest at 23.
Last season, Boston College was the lone ACC team to reach the College Cup, marking the 28th time in 29 years an ACC program has made the women's soccer Final Four.
The BC women's team lost its lone exhibition of the season yesterday, falling to the Connecticut women 2-1 over on Newton Campus. The season starts this Friday as the Eagles host Boston University at 4 PM at the Newton Soccer Complex. If you are in the area and are enjoying a summer Friday away from the office, definitely consider coming out and rooting on the 6th ranked team in the nation.
Go Eagles!
