Boston College Football Fall Practice: Wednesday Notes

Day 3 of practice is in the books and not much to report on today. Shoulder pads were added to practice which will lead to their first day of full contact on Friday. Weather was off and on today with some scattered showers and periods of warm sunshine.

Speaking of Friday, BC Interruption is pleased to announce some big news. Yours truly will be in attendance for Friday's BC Football Media Day. I'll get a chance to interview players and sit in on Coach Spaziani's press conference. So stayed tuned to BCI. We should have some great exclusive content rolling out all weekend and early next week.

If you have any questions you'd like me to ask (keep them realistic), leave them in the comments below.

Lots of Boston College Football folk had some interesting things to say today. Here's coach Spaz on sophomore WR Bobby Swigert:

"I expect him to pick up where he left off last year. He's bigger and he's faster. People underestimate how hard it is to play as a true freshman ... You have to read coverages. You have all kinds of different techniques that are thrown up against you. And, the other guys are more physical than you are. So, he's made a lot of progress in those areas. He's a smart kid."

If you needed reason to look forward to BC's scrimmage which is open to the public, the Eagles QB provided some:

Receiving core looked strong today.. High intensity team and blitz periods.. Scrimmage will be extremely competitive. Chase Rettig via Twitter (@chaserettig)

Finally, maybe Bill Romanowski isn't all that bad after all.

"I would want to lay him (Tim Tebow) out and put him into next year…I’d have him so messed up mentally he’d be like, Oh, God, this Romanowski is crazy."

Whichever player you interview ...

Please first ask Blauds and Conroy who they plan on interviewing on the same day next week, and then don’t interview that guy.

23 days …

I’ll just find the most obscure players on the depth chart and ask them questions. I bet they’d love the attention. Maybe someone like freshman offensive lineman Eddie Meredith, or Victor Nelson.

Will Baldwin be fielding questions?

Some questions

How’s montel’s health? Larmond’s knee?

I was kind of surprised montel wasn’t a captain. Is spaz looking for leadership from him?

His take on northwestern and is camp different b/c of the tough opener.

Something about his ’stache

scrimmage

Is the scrimmage open to the general public? I thought I read season ticket holders and students. I just opted for single game tickets this year with subpar home schedule.

Interviewees

With my obvious pick I vote for interviewing Spiffy Evans and with my contrarian pick I vote for interviewing Blaudschun. Real questions for Blaudschun could be:

Why do you think Boston fans have never fully embraced BC?
Since more clicks = more money, why has the Globe never really made a concerted effort for more coverage?
How can the Globe and BC work together more effectively?

You could also throw down some challenges for Blauds like:

Approximately how many hours per week would you say you ACTUALLY work?
How is it that there are now multiple BC blogs that provide a better product than you?
The Globe and the Herald tend to write slight variations of the exact same articles; do you and Conroy simply take turns writing all of the articles each week?

Classless

Bill Romanowski is that bad “after all”. Here’s the problem with Romo. His weapon is “idiocy” and predation. He is an “animal in Yellowstone”. The wolves let loose in Yellowstone are “going off the reservation” and going after cattle. Guess what happens next on the part of the ranchers who catch them outside of Yellowstone? Is this someone that you want as being representative of Boston College? Someone who has no remorse for his actions even many years after the fact? It is also very probable that if he used steroids right away in the pros, then he was using them at BC. If this be so, then he does not deserve to be inducted in the Hall of Fame.
