Three More Boston College Eagles Signed As NFL Undrafted Free Agents

On top of the news this morning of Herzlich signing with the Giants, several other former Eagles are landing with NFL teams. Heights Sports is reporting that Alex Albright has signed with the Dallas Cowboys and Rich Lapham with the Buffalo Bills.

In addition, Mook Williams Tweeted the good news that James McCluskey has signed with the Raiders:

"I'm happy to announce that @BostonCollege FB James McCluskey will be signing with the Oakland Raiders. Thanks to the NSM team!"

WEEI is now confirming the McCluskey news:

"A source has told WEEI.com's Christopher Price that former Boston College fullback James McCluskey will sign with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent.

McCluskey, a native of Billerica, ran the ball five times as a senior for 25 yards and had three receptions for 32 yards. His best year came as a sophomore, when he rushed for 84 yards on 23 carries with one touchdown and added 123 yards on 19 receptions. He had four career touchdowns, three of which came in his freshman year."

Congrats to Albright, Lapham and McCluskey, and best of luck in the NFL. Reactions to these and other UDFA signings over at Blogging The Boys (Dallas Cowboys), Buffalo Rumblings (Bills) and Silver And Black Pride (Oakland Raiders).

Lapham is bigger than Castanzo. He should stick. Albright and McCluskey are iffy because of injury backgrounds. I wish them well for serving well. Rich Gunnell, my favorite for taking on NDs spoiled brat on tv, was cut by the Chiefs on the last set of cuts last year. He then surfaced briefly with the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League. It is a rough career path that only offers literally “headaches”. Evidently, Clairborne is still being badmouthed.

does Gunnell get a do-over anywhere?

or is it one-and-done in the NFL?
