Third Annual Lift For Life Program To Benefit Ewing's Sarcoma: Tommorow at BC

If you went to Boston College, you know how important service to others is. Most graduates have completed at least one community service project before their graduation. This is no different for athletes like the football team, who will be holding their third annual "Uplifting Athletes" program at Alumni Stadium. This year the program is run by Luke Kuechly, Jake Sinkovec, Mike Naples, Ryan Quigley, Mark Maglio and Mike Kurtya.

It's a fantastic program, for a very worthy cause so if you live in the Greater Boston area please check it out. The description is below:

EVENT:  Third Annual "Lift For Life"

DATE:  Friday, July 22, 2011

TIME:  3:30 p.m.

LOCATION:  Boston College, Shea Field

BC's efforts have already netted close to $200,000 in its first two years to benefit Ewing's sarcoma, a rare bone cancer that affects children.

The Boston College chapter chose Ewing's sarcoma in honor of their former teammate Mark Herzlich, who was diagnosed with the rare disease two years ago. Herzlich has since been declared cancer free, returned to the field this past season and hopes to continue his football career in the NFL this upcoming year.

"Lift For Life" is open to the public with a suggested donation of $5 per student or child and $10 per adult.

Parking will be available in the garage adjacent to Alumni Stadium and Gate E will be open for fans to enter the event. Donations can also be made in advance and credited to your favorite player's fundraising total by going to the following website. Fans will have a chance to meet and get autographs from current and former members of the Boston College football team.

Hope you all can help this great program.

Has anyone yet asked Markie Mark to leave his heart behind like the song in San Francisco?
