Boston College, Miami To Play On Thanksgiving Friday

Stay connected for news and updates

For the first time since the "55 Flood Tip," the Boston College Eagles and Miami Hurricanes will meet on a Friday. Via theACC.com:

"Miami and Boston College have agreed to play their 2011 football game, scheduled for Sun Life Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on the Friday afternoon after Thanksgiving, Nov. 25, with a 3:30 kickoff."

The two schools agreed to move the game from Saturday to Friday. On the plus side, the game will be televised nationally on ABC. Negative? Back-to-back road games on short rest to end the year.

Miami has dominated the all-time series against the Eagles, posting a 23-4 record in a series that dates back to 1955. The Eagles last faced the Hurricanes in 2007, earning a 28-14 victory at home. That win broke a 15 -- 15! -- game losing streak to the U that dated back to the last time these two programs played on a Friday. Here's what happened on that day.

Though Miami and BC have met 27 times previously, the Eagles have never faced the Canes at Sun Life Stadium. BC's only other appearance in the stadium was a 31-13 victory over Virginia in the 1994 Carquest Bowl.
