Adjusted for Conference size...

And ACC still is dominating with 1.666667 players per team compared to the BE’s 0.625 player per team.

I have a feeling round 5 is the round

Hmmm

No one seems to need linebackers at all!

Prediction

I’m now predicting: NY Giants with the 37th pick of the 6th round.

So Pissed the Bills Passed on Him

And took some schmo called Chris White.

Chris White? Who?

BC Interruption, SBN's Boston College Eagles blog

by Brian Favat on Apr 30, 2011 4:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Exactly

And the consensus seems to be that he is most likely a special teamer…there may be questions about Herzilch’s ability to find his pre-cancer form, but his upside is way higher than a g.d. special teamer.

Would rather see him...

on a winning team that doesn’t compete with the Patriots or Falcons.

by formereagledad on Apr 30, 2011 4:29 PM EDT reply actions

Tyrod Taylor to Ravens

Seems like a good fit. Cool that he gets to play somewhat close to Blacksburg.

So glad to see him graduate.

Taylor

Yeah, he came a long way since Jamie Sylva picked his pocket!

by formereagledad on Apr 30, 2011 4:32 PM EDT reply actions

Feels like he’s been at Tech since BC moved to the ACC.

It feels like every single OLB besides Herzy has been selected so far...

…really annoying. Some time out there is going to strike gold…hopefully.

Fingers crossed.

New York has two compensatory picks coming up with 198 and 202 …

Draft #94!

Giants

SI has him listed as an ILB — does it matter? Yes I hope, with all their BC Connections the Giants will show the guts!

Herz now the best OLB remaining

The NFL will look pretty stupid if they invited Herzlich to NY and he doesn’t get drafted. It’ll be like they’re just using his amazing story for their benefit. Oh wait…

Hey, Kansas City

Hope that running back from Yale that you took with the 223rd pick in the Draft works out for you!

Getting more bitter by the pick …

It's baffling

He has more upside than anyone in the 7th round. He has 1st round potential.

If Mark isn't picked

what’s the lockout situation going to do with UDFAs? Still believe he’ll be picked before it’s all said and done.

by hoyaeagle on Apr 30, 2011 6:16 PM EDT reply actions

As long as there is a lockout, players can’t sign as UDFAs.

BC Interruption, SBN's Boston College Eagles blog

by Brian Favat on Apr 30, 2011 6:17 PM EDT up reply actions

That's awful

But since there still is a lockout, what advantage do players that are picked have? They can’t use team facilities. Are they given access to playbooks?

by hoyaeagle on Apr 30, 2011 6:21 PM EDT up reply actions

They can probably get a playbook from the team’s 1st pick

"An offensive lineman from BC comes with a guaranteed pedigree stamp" - Wash. Post

by JMSF#1 on Apr 30, 2011 6:23 PM EDT up reply actions

No, can’t use facilities and can’t get playbooks. They can’t sign right away, but it’s not like the NFL lockout will last forever. They will get a chance to sign and get paid.

Unfortunately, UDFAs are among the biggest losers as a result of the NFL’s labor situation.

Well at least the drafted players won’t have too big an advantage then.

by hoyaeagle on Apr 30, 2011 6:31 PM EDT up reply actions

They have to wait

Terrible…hopefully he doesn’t have to worry about that

There may be a civil rights law violation here somewhere

This may be discrimination on the basis of a past medical illness. What do you think all you lawyers out there?

Another LB off the board.

19 picks to go …

I hate the Philadelphia Eagles even more now

Take a LB not named Herzlich with the 237th pick.

Sure, take the kid from UConn. Don’t take the local kid with the amazing story …

240 Stanley Havili, FB (USC)
241 David Ausberry, WR (USC)
242 Malcolm Smith, OLB (USC)

Clearly Discrimination

The NFL deserves not to have a season next year!

by formereagledad on Apr 30, 2011 7:11 PM EDT reply actions

I kinda hope the NFL never comes back. I can’t believe they would invite him to NYC, cash in on his story, and then not one of 32 teams would take a chance on him … even late.

How often do these 6th and 7th round picks pan out? 1 in 5? 1 in 10?
