It's official. Boston College has announced that junior guard Reggie Jackson will declare for this year's NBA Draft. Per the school's Twitter account:
"Reggie Jackson declares for NBA Draft; will not hire agent, reserving right to return to school"
I can't say I'm surprised by this decision. Just like Maryland's Jordan Williams, this will allow Jackson to "test the NBA Draft waters" with the option of returning to school if he doesn't like his pro prospects.
Jackson will have until May 8 to decide to return to school. I'm thinking there's still a pretty good shot that Jackson returns for his senior season. But if you ask someone else, they'd probably say he's as good as gone. You never really know with these things.
Jackson was the Eagles' leading scorer this year, averaging 18.2 points, 4.5 assists and 4.3 rebounds per game. If he's played his last game as an Eagle, he will finish his career with 1,254 points, 433 rebounds and 350 assists through 99 games.
Best of luck to Reggie. Please come back?
