Boston College recruit Eddie Odio has led his Columbus Explorers (Miami, FL) high school team to its first state Final Four in school history.
"Columbus (29-3) - a school which had been to state in other boys' major sports such as football and baseball - secured its first berth in the state final four in basketball. The Explorers will take on defending Class 6A state champion Winter Park on Friday at The Lakeland Center."
Columbus has dispatched Valera 67-43, South Miami (56-50) and Hialeah-Miami Lakes (65-50) to capture its first Region 4-6A title. Odio added 9 points in the victory over Hialeah-Miami Lakes, and scored all of his 11 points in the second half in the win over South Miami.
The Explorers take on the 26-5 Winter Park Wildcats at 7 PM this Friday in the second of two Final Four games.
