Do more of this...

Not sure if this was posted already and I missed it, but this ESPN Boston article kinda helps the BC staff un-shoot themselves in the foot a little. Gene and Spaz please take note - articles like this are how you get back in the good graces of a fanbase. Stop trying to convince us you're right and we're wrong. Focus a little more on things like:

1. Praising/ supporting players

2. What you plan to do to make things better for next year

3. What you CAN do to improve game day experience

4. Embracing fan suggestions and publicizing when you do

It’s a shame the administration and the coaching staff can’t get past point 1.

Well, if Freese had just made that FG against Duke … and if we hadn’t taken a false start penalty at the end of the Northwestern game …

Same old, same old

I don’t see this article as being different from the usual BC manipulated press reports . What did I miss?

Spaz is in Spaz mode. He basically throws his OL under the bus:

“He [Kuechly] could go to any team and any system and be the star,” he said. “I don’t know if some of those others guys could do that. Take one of the running backs [nominated for Heisman] , put him on our team . Is he [the stud RB] gonna win the Heisman? Why not? He’s the best football player in the country. Oh, he didn’t produce because you couldn’t block for him.”

You = 2011 BC OL

So Spaz, so very, very Spaz!

Never fails to trash his own players. I’m not surprised DCash conveniently “overlooked” this portion o fthe interview.

Haha, you’re so cute.

Similar to how you conveniently “overlooked” these 6 quotes?

“He should win ’em all, in my estimation”
“And I can’t imagine anybody being better at their position than Luke is.”
“But he’s a great football player.”
“It has nothing to do with what’s in front of him. He’s just a great football player.”
“He could go to any team and any system and be the star”
“I can’t imagine anybody being more productive at his position than him.”

DCash. - do you really see a new mode by Spaz?

by eagleosprey on Dec 11, 2011 10:46 PM EST up reply actions

I’m guessing people missed the thesis of my post. I was simply highlighting this as a step in the right direction and reinforcing this as a good direction to go. Rewarding successive approximations if you will.

Somebody is backpedalling . . .

by eagleosprey on Dec 11, 2011 11:35 PM EST up reply actions

Or reiterating my original point since you didn’t get it.

by DCash on Dec 11, 2011 11:45 PM EST up reply actions

Soooo, I guess that means it didn’t happen?

by DCash on Dec 11, 2011 10:57 PM EST up reply actions

Spaz has ALWAYS praised Kuechly, even while simultaneously throwing the rest of the team under the bus at his whim. This behavior is nothing new. Your evidence of change is simply evidence that nothing has changed.

Also, generally speaking, when calling someone a bozo, it helps to spell bozo right.

by DCash on Dec 11, 2011 10:59 PM EST up reply actions

Don’t you see? This is what they want. Dissention among the ranks.

Coach Flip/Spaz has already won.

Funny man

Curiously DCash known for being very funny on COPCO day Is now “funny” in a different way. DCash is a Spaz apologist. OMG

Dcash: Spaz makes thoughtful comments; don’t call Spaz a Bozo; everyone fails to understand my comments about Spaz, he is complex; Spaz is my daddy

It is like Al Franken. I loved him as a comedian. Not so much as a politician

Spaz has always praised Kuechly and Herzlich, true. Also has thrown the rest of the team under the bus publicly (Freese in particular). But I don’t think any of these suggestions are any less appropriate:

  • Praising/ supporting players
  • What you plan to do to make things better for next year
  • What you CAN do to improve game day experience
  • Embracing fan suggestions and publicizing when you do

by Brian Favat on Dec 12, 2011 8:26 AM EST up reply actions

Thank you Brian for being the only person that realized these were suggestions.

by DCash on Dec 12, 2011 10:32 AM EST up reply actions

We are continually lied to, antagonized and patronized for not knowing what really goes on with the current football program. The administration needs to stop trying to prove to us that they are right and clue us in to their plan.

  • You want Virginia’s RB coach to be the next OC over Brock? Fine. Tell us why.
  • You really think Spaz is the best coach of the last 15 years? Tell us why.
  • You want fans to be in their seats at kickoff. Tell us how you plan on achieving this.

Stop making excuses and start planning. Let the fan base know what your plan is and why it is your plan. Otherwise, we’ll continue to feel unappreciated, lied to (hope our next OC can take a punch) and antagonized.

you and Spazoo are so misunderstood

by eagleosprey on Dec 12, 2011 11:33 AM EST up reply actions

Seriously?

Continuing to engage with you cheapens my BC education. Go read my post again. Then have someone smarter read it and explain it to you. It’s not a defense OF the administration, rather a list of suggestions TO the administration.

it does?

I went there too! I do not feel cheapened

did you just like saying cheapen?

Go back to your dorm room right now!

by eagleosprey on Dec 12, 2011 11:45 AM EST up reply actions

My bozo comment was pretty funny; sorry the joke was one you.

by DCash on Dec 12, 2011 10:34 AM EST up reply actions

you "one"

for a guy who thinks being a typo weenie is funny (it really is not!), read your own stuff

But in your mind, i guess you “one”

Also, generally speaking, when calling someone out for for having a typo in writing “bozo” as “bozoo,” it helps to spell ‘on’ right.

Does that sound familar persnickety-typo-finding boy?!

Embracing fan suggestions and publicizing when you do

Kind of opposite of the regime’s current philosophy of mocking the fanbase and doing whatever the hell they want with no accountability.
