The inept leadership of the Big East caused the conference re-alignment we are now experiencing. I'm not only talking about the Big East losing teams. I'm talking ALL the conference re-alignment nonsense. If the Big East had allowed the football school to control their own destiny outside of the votes of our catholic brothers, the college football landscape would be much different. The shuffling of teams may have happened anyway, but the current state of re-alignment is directly attributable to the lack of leadership with the Big East offices in Providence.

No need
to mention the word Catholic. and it’s capital C the way you used it, Hatfield. (McCoy is an Irish name so I assume Catholic).
Why not blame George Bush too!!
The dumb “catholic” comment we can assume is based on unfamiliarity, which leads to ignorance, which leads to prejudice, which leads to, as here, baseless suspicions based on Creed
….only 5% of WV is Catholic…
But this kind of comment, while disappointing, is not exactly surprising
(oh yeah, WVU agreed to the bylaws which set up all governance. – maybe they did not read it)

Fail
Utah leaving the MWC for the Pac 12, Colorado leaving the Big XII for the Pac 12, Nebraska leaving the Big XII for the B1G, Mizzou and aTm leaving the Big XII and Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahome and OK State whoring themselves to the Pac-xx has zero to do with the Big East or its leadership.
BC folks sure talk a lot about the Big East for a school that left a half dozen years ago and is supposedly such a great fit down in Dixie, eh?

wait, what?
Pretty sure the WVU blogger is saying what we knew a decade ago – the bball/fball split was untenable. Vindication.

After rereading the linked article
That take is even more ignorant and nonsensical the second time around.
But then again, this is WVU we’re talking about. They idolize Bob Huggins, burn couches for fun, and their administration gathered up a pile of poo, threw it at the Big East in the form of a flimsy ass lawsuit while publicly declaring with defiance that they’d be out the BE 18 months before they’re legally allowed.
In short, not a fanbase, administration or culture I’d want to be aligning myself with, but that’s just me.
