Final Pregame Thoughts: Florida State Game

Tonight is the game we have all been waiting for ... Florida State at home. Unfortunately on paper, this doesn't appear to be much of a game. But call me naive or call me stupid, but I think it's going to be a lot closer than it would look on paper. Boston College doesn't have any depth at running back, their secondary is paper thin and their offensive line still remains a giant question. But some illogical part of my brain still thinks BC is going to make this a game.

Big Questions

Can Boston College improve on the flacid 32 yards of passing offense they got against Maryland? Florida State has the #1 rushing defense in the ACC. If BC can't get Deuce Finch going, what the heck are they going to do on offense?

If E.J. Manuel takes a page out of the UCF playbook and options the BC defense to death, how is BC going to react? Can Luke Kuechly record 120 tackles in a game?

Lingering Questions

What are the Eagles going to do if Deuce Finch gets hurt? They literally have two guys with no experience ... and Donte Elliot. Yes he is the emergency RB.

Spaz is going to need show his A game today. Does he actually have an A game? Or are we going to be looking at a beatdown at the hands of FSU?

By request of Brian and his wife, I present to you Ante Up by M.O.P. When this was first suggested I almost dismissed it, because I never thought of it as Old School. But this song was released in 2001, which makes it 10 years old. I remember when this song came out. My god I feel like I'm starting to feel old.

It's probably one of my top five "RUN THROUGH A GODDAMN BRICK WALL" songs. And if there is any song that describes where Spaz is it at in his career, this is it. Come on man, this is the game that could turn around your season. Ante up partner.

Liquor To Help Dull The Pain: Jack Daniels

I could make a ton of insensitive jokes regarding whiskey and Native Americans, but my therapist has helped me turn a new leaf. I picked this because it is a solid whiskey. But please don't let me hear about how it goes well with coke. Whiskey is made for the rocks, not for mixing. Whiskey and Coke is like Frank Spaziani and Kevin Rogers. Sure it could work together, but they are much better when they are apart.

Alternative profession for Frank Spaziani: Take Craig James' job with ESPN. Honestly, Spaz isn't that bad to listen to during his press conferences. When he isn't busy throwing his players under the bus, he can be funny and witty. And honestly, isn't any person with a pulse an immediate upgrade over James?

A.J's Lock Solid Prediction: Boston College 17, Florida State 14

I'm going to kick myself in the head for this prediction. I for some reason think that BC's defense is back to it's 2010 level of awesomeness. I bet the fans at Alumni Stadium will be rowdy and BC will ride their success of last game into this one. But then again their is the Spaz factor. Gah, at this point I don't know what to do. Might as well pick the Eagles.
