Boston College Depth Chart For Florida State Game

For the first time this season, there isn't a whole lot to report about. I guess if it ain't broke why fix it, right? Boston College finally put together a solid game this season, so Spaz has kept everything basically the same.  The offensive line which had a great game against a weak Maryland defense remains the same, which means no Nathan Richman. They are going to need to have another solid game against a very good FSU defensive front. Tajh Kimble also is still off the two deep -- and isn't listed on special teams, either -- which must mean his injury is still nagging him. Donnie Fletcher is listed as the backup punt returner.

The only big change on defense is the change at safety. Spaz switched Spencer Rositano with Hampton Hughes. Kind of a curious move since Rositano has been the better of the two and has been making big plays. Kevin Pierre-Louis is also out again, but that really isn't news. Jim Noel is also back which is huge, given how thin BC's secondary is.

Mike Javorski and Paul Maglio are the only two RB’s I see on the current roster.

Can he catch the ball too?

He was only 10 yds shy of being our leading receiver last game.

Anway who wins this game?

I think it will be an ugly (as in boring) game. I believe the cold will put a dent in the FSU passing attack and that will keep the scoring low (advantage BC). BC needs to stay in the game early because FSU does a lot of scoring in the 1st and 4th quarter.

I expect BC to grind this out with a mix of runs and SHORT passes to create longer drives and to keep the BC defense fresh. Despite Maryland being not so good against the run, I think the O line crossed a mental threshold and they will play a solid game.

BC tightends will have an impact on this game. Deuce Finch will run for over a hundred yards on fewer carries, but look for BC to use him in the short passing game. I also think we will see more use of the fullback for BC.

However…the unsung hero in this game will be…..(drum roll)…Nate Freese (3 field goals)

PREDICTION: BC 23 (yes…over 20) FSU 17

Andre Lawrence!

Is this the first time that he has been on the 2 deep (WLB) ? I like this kid. He is a BIG hitter. BC needs more nasty guys. Usually he is only on special teams.
