Gee, I have no idea what this is all about ...

"The Hockey East Association and the University of Notre Dame will hold a joint press conference on Wednesday, October 5 at 2:30pm (EDT) on the campus of Notre Dame at the Compton Family Ice Arena.

Hockey East Commissioner Joe Bertagna, along with Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick, Boston University athletic director Mike Lynch and Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson will participate in the press conference."

Mike Lynch will be there? Could we have sent a representative from any other HEA member school? WTF?

You can watch the press conference streaming live on the internet at www.und.com or by clicking here for the live stream page.

Let us know your thoughts on the press conference and the addition of the Irish to Hockey East, including:

-- Who should the conference add as program #12?
-- Whether the #1 ranked Irish will live up to their preseason billing, or whether they'll flop in spectacular fashion just like Irish football's annual fall from the rankings / BCS National Championship game contention.
-- How much fun it'll be to watch the Irish christen its new arena with a home loss to Boston College.
