No. 21 Boston College Women's Soccer Defeats No. 7 Wake Forest 2-0

The Boston College women's soccer team earned a huge 2-0 victory over the visiting Wake Forest Demon Deacons today. BC got two first half goals from Gibby Wagner and Julia Bouchelle to knock off the seventh ranked Deacons. The win pushes the Eagles' final regular season record to 11-4-2 and 6-4-0 in conference play.

With the victory, the Eagles secured the fourth seed in this weekend's ACC Women's Soccer Championship. The Eagles will (again) host Wake Forest on this Sunday, October 30 at Newton Soccer Field. The game starts at 1 p.m. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students. If you are in the area this weekend, consider heading over to Newton Campus and supporting the Eagles.

The rest of the 2011 ACC Women's Soccer Championship bracket breaks down as follows:

No. 8 Virginia Tech (12-6-1, 4-5-1 ACC) at No. 1 Duke (16-2-1, 8-1-1)
No. 5 Wake Forest (12-3-3, 5-2-3) at No.4 Boston College (11-4-2, 6-4-0)
No. 7 Maryland (10-4-4, 4-4-2) at No.2 Virginia (13-3-2, 7-2-1)
No. 6 Florida State (12-6, 5-5) at No. 3 North Carolina (11-4-1, 6-3-1)

Should the Eagles knock off the defending ACC champs in the quarterfinals round, the semifinals will be played at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. on Friday, November 4. Both semifinal matchups will be aired on ESPN3, starting at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The ACC Women's Soccer Championship final will be played on Sunday, November 6 starting at 1 p.m. and will be aired on ESPNU.

Go Eagles!

Love it. Those back-to-back end of the season-tourny games can be tricky though. Reminds be of basketball last year, when we were also paired with WF for two consecutive tilts.
