Around SBN: Ray Allen Fighting Age, Injury And His New Role

Boston College Depth Chart for Virginia Tech Game

BC football is back in the swing of things, preparing for their Saturday game against the Virginia Tech Hokies. After dropping five of their last six, has Coach Frank Spaziani changed anything for the Eagles' trip to Blacksburg? There are some changes that actually switch things up a bit.

On offense Nathan Richman is still out. The offensive line is still the same as it was for the game against Clemson. Hopefully two weeks of cohesion will prevent Chase Rettig from getting killed by Bud Foster's defense. Evidently Spaz had enough of the lack of production from Jonathan Coleman, as he was dropped from the starting slot in favor of Alex Amidon. With Bobby Swiggert, Amidon and Colin Larmond Jr all starting, BC will probably be focusing on the short routes. Given the trouble of the offensive line, and the prowess of VT's defense, that may not be a bad idea. Andre Williams is back on the two deep, and it appears that depending on his health he could be the starting tailback.

On defense the big news is that Dillon Quinn is off the two deep. He isn't listed so there may be an injury there, but no official word on why. In his place at Right Tackle we have Max Ricci, a freshman who has played in five games so far, and has recorded one tackle. Big changes in the secondary for the Eagles. Spenser Rositano, who has been the star in the secondary so far this season, gets the start at strong safety over Dominique Williams (off the two deep), and Ted Davenport. At free safety Sean Sylvia will get the start over Hampton Hughes.

Deuce

Good to see him as a starter. Good running instincts

Can't wait...

to see him ramp it up. Even after getting hit in the backfield 5 or 6 times, sharing carries with Kimble… he still got 80+ yards against Clemson. A little consistent blocking and he is due for a big game. BC s other backs are good, but Deuce runs hard and in traffic, I’m sorry, but none of the others come close.
