Saturday College Football Open Thread

Boston College is not playing any football today, which means we will be saved from the embarrassment of starting the season 1-6 for another week. As Coach Taylor says, "Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. CAN'T LOSE!"

Week seven TV listings after the jump.

A pretty 'meh' day of football today if you ask me. Couple games of interest in the ACC; Miami and North Carolina kick off at 12:30 in a key Coastal Division matchup, and later Clemson tries to avoid "pulling a Clemson" in College Park against Maryland.

Michigan at Michigan State is probably your best game of the afternoon.

Leave your thoughts on the day's college football action below. Also, impromptu COPCO for the above photo. Ready! Set! Caption!

Go Eagles!

Not much out there today grabbing my attention.

Other than the ACC slate, I can only see myself watching Michigan – MSU and Florida – Auburn. BC’s lack of life has made me less interested in the football landscape.

Michigan’s gold helmets need to be donated to a third world country along with BC’s triple stripe helmets.

Think BC could have held Wisconsin to less than 38 in the first half?

Yeah, me neither.

Spaz would have gotten a contract extension for keeping them under 900 yards of offense

Speaking about Wisconsin...

What about their OC as our new Head Coach? I’d think that would work well, if he would be willing to leave UW.

Can we bring in Urban Meyer as HC?

He seems to know what he’s talking about during the MSU-Michigan game. Like he actually understands the sport.

Watching

SMU beat the snot out of UCF. Which beat the snot out of BC.

by Beerfart on Oct 15, 2011 6:43 PM EDT reply actions

ok.

why the fuck am i watching that? enough

by Beerfart on Oct 15, 2011 6:47 PM EDT up reply actions

Everyone beats BC this year. Perhaps UCF fans should focus on winning Conference USA first before talking smack about moving to the Big Easy.

by Brian Favat on Oct 15, 2011 7:50 PM EDT up reply actions

Or perhaps worry about

being better than the 6th best team in the state, maybe? When did they talk smack about moving to BE? Didn’t notice. They talk smack about everything.

GT? Clemson? What is going on with the top of this conference?

Edsall edsalled that game. Clemson still undefeated.

Edsall’s record against ranked opponents now at 1-18 or thereabouts.

Hey Dabo, have you heard this one? Why did Super Mario eat mushrooms at the party? Because he was a fungi. Get it? Get it? (awkward silence)

by Brian Favat on Oct 15, 2011 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions

Well Dabo, first of all, hats off to you. You and your guys just executed better than we did today. Now, that said, we had a good game plan drawn up and got the looks we wanted but our guys just didn’t execute when they needed to. What do you mean the game didn’t start yet? (awkward silence)

We think BC is in talks with Clemson to move to the SEC #blaudstweets

by DCash on Oct 15, 2011 9:45 PM EDT via mobile reply actions

We think that BC is a better fit in the MAC for a lot of reasons. UConn to replace BC in ACC. #BlaudsTweets

Dabo: So then I walk into the backyard and wouldn’t you know it 8-Ball is out there hosting a full fledged Nazi party!!!

Spaz: Wow, that is just bizarre…
