Joe Rahon Commits To Boston College
[Ed. note -- Edited, Front Page'd]
Per twitter today: @Bodie_DeSilva 2012 G Joe Rahon just informed me that he has committed to Boston College.
Big pickup for Steve Donahue and staff. Rahon is 3-star recruit on Rivals that can score and shoot at will. He is described here "On the court Rahon controls the game very well and put his teammates in the right position to score. He also plays solid defense and should add some more depth to the Eagles back court."
BC already is going after a guard in Olivier Hanlan of New Hampton Prep. Does this mean they will stop recruiting him? Who knows? This is especially important though because this means we will at least have 1 returning starter when the enormous 6-man 2011 class leaves. He also adds much needed depth behind a thin BC backcourt.
Go Eagles! Good job Stevie D!

Coach share program
Some people have been saying recently that Jerry York should coach the football team because he is basically the best coach BC has ever had, ever.
Given that this is logistically impossible given the overlap between the two seasons, I would like to propose a coach share program in which York gets the first 6 games of the season until hockey starts up and then Donahue gets the last 6 until basketball gets going. They would then split Spaz’s $1million.
Thoughts?

Does BC have a satellite campus in Cali?
Can’t believe all these CA recruits Steve is pullin in. Not complaining….it’s definitely good to have a pipeline develop like this. I hope he starts making his way east though. He started off coaching HS ball in Philly. If we could start nabbing kids from there….
Hanlan
Word is BC views Hanlan as a PG and Rahon as a SG so they would take both. Rahon is a good pickup but I’d love to see another big in the class. BC only has 3 guys who really have the size to play the 4/5 so one more would be nice.
Stevie D is also going after JaCorrey Williams and Chris Reyes. Both can play the 4/5.

Makes no sense to bring in 3 or 4 guys for this class
We only have 4 spots for the next two years. Good spread it out a little.
