2011 NFL Mock Draft: Anthony Castonzo A Late First Round Pick?

With the NFL's regular season in the books, the NFL wasted no time in publishing the order of the 2011 NFL Draft. In SB Nation's first 2011 NFL Mock Draft, BC's Anthony Castonzo is snatched up by the Chicago Bears with the 27th-ish overall pick in the draft:

"27. Chicago Bears (11-5): Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College (SR). We love Jay Cutler, but we're pretty sure Jay Cutler doesn't love getting drilled into the turf a dozen times per game. Chicago needs an immediate O-Line contributor badly; Castonzo topped our list in that department."

The draft order of the playoff teams is subject to the results of the playoffs. If Castonzo winds up on the Bears, he'll join BC alum James Marten, who is currently on the Bears practice squad as an offensive tackle.

As of December 20, SB Nation's Mocking The Draft had Castonzo rated as the 27th best overall draft prospect.

If Castonzo is drafted in the first round of this year's Draft, he'll become the seventh Eagle drafted in the first round over the last 10 years. It would also mark 9 out of the last 10 years that a Boston College offensive or defensive lineman would be taken in the Draft.

Bears fans can pre-order their collector's item Castonzo For Rhodes t-shirts by clicking this link.

Hopefully he does better than Josh Beekman on the Bears, who seems to have fallen off the map…

Hopefully .....

….. Castonzo plays better in the NFL than this year for BC. No leadership at all this year. And he seems to have the same balls and heart as Sterlin Pfifer. (ok that is too harsh, but he was unimpressive this year)
