UPDATED: Piecing Together The 2010-11 Boston College Eagles Hockey Schedule
For whatever reason, the defending National Champions Eagles hockey team have yet to release their 2010-11 men's ice hockey schedule. This doesn't stop us, however, from piecing together much of the Eagles' schedule from the schedule releases for virtually every other Hockey East programs including Maine, New Hampshire, Boston University, Providence, Merrimack, UMass-Lowell, Vermont and Northeastern.
This season, BC is fortunate to host both Maine and New Hampshire at home for two of their three regular season games, along with UMass-Lowell and Massachusetts. BC will go on the road for two of three against Vermont, Boston University, Northeastern, Merrimack and Providence.
Next year is also one of those awkward years where BC and BU can't meet in the Beanpot Tournament final, as the Green Line rivals square off in the first round. BC will play BU in the second game of the first round of the Beanpot on February 7, 2011.
The regular season again concludes with a home-and-home with New Hampshire on March 4-5, which will likely again determine the Hockey East regular season title.
The only dates that are still to be confirmed are the three regular season games against UMass.
In non-conference play, BC will travel to Denver to play two games against the Pioneers on October 15-16. The Eagles will again face Notre Dame in South Bend on October 23. Finally, BC will play Colgate and either Dartmouth or Mercyhurst in the Dartmouth Tournament over the holidays.

ND
Makes no sense to have @ND for back to back years as the hockey-football tradition was always nice.
Yeah. That doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. Neither does five straight road games to start the season.

There will probably be changes
Some of the dates don’t make sense. We are scheduled to have our home opener/banner raiser the same day as a home football game against Clemson. There’s NO WAY that’s happening. Also one of the Maine games is the same date as our senior day football game against UVA. Maybe the schedule hasn’t been released yet because athletics is trying to figure out ways to get these dates changed?
You’re probably right about why the schedule hasn’t been released yet. None of the other schools have to work around a major college football program.

Scheduling conflicts
Right now, they have the exhibition game on the same day as the home Notre Dame game. Likely will be moved back a day?
For the Clemson game, they should swap the home games with Merrimack that weekend. Banner raising on October 29 against Merrimack, then road game at Merrimack the night after the Clemson game. Or move the road game to Sunday (but that’s Halloween).
Who knows what happens with the Maine and UVA games. Since there is nowhere to move the second Maine game, unless they move it to Sunday.

Also ...
We need to find a better weekend for BC-BU. Don’t they realize the first weekend in December is the ACC Championship Game?

I agree
Though it’s not like BU has football to worry about…but they should change it. It’s hard to expect students who are big fans of the hockey team to make the trip to Charlotte (or in years past, Tampa) and skip out on the biggest home regular season game of the year (it happened in ‘08 when #1 BU came into Conte the night of that disappointing ACC Championship Game). But unfortunately BU and BC have been playing on the first weekend in December for years now. And now, if they make the ACC Championship a primetime game again like they did last year, then people who stay at BC won’t be able to watch the football game from the beginning since it would start during the hockey game, unless they stay home and skip the hockey game to watch on TV.
Updated
Post updated with the dates for the UMass series. At home on 2/4 and 2/26. On the road 2/25.
