Texas President William Powers and AD DeLoss Dodd gathered up the Longhorn coaches this afternoon. Told them we did everything we could to save the Big 12, but were unsuccessful. And according to my sources, the 6 schools that Orangebloods.com first reported last Thursday as being targeted by the Pac 10 will indeed accept those invitations. Including Colorado who will opt out of the Big 12. And that they will find their new home in the Pac 10 in 2012 and form the United States’ first super conference.
Orangebloods.com's Chip Brown pronounces Big 12 dead on Sportscenter. Nothing is official though until you hear it from a University President. Stay tuned.

Mark my words
The ACC will screw themselves if they are not going to be proactive in expansion.

If that statement is actually publicized.
Its time for the ACC to become proactive and invite 4 more teams.
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
West Virginia/South Florida/SueConn/Rutgers
And cave into every single one of ND’s demands to get them to join.
Texas and aTm can still fix this. They will meet tomorrow and if they decide to resuscitate the Big 12, can move forward with 10 and backfill with 2 MWC teams.
Chip Brown had a bit of a flair of the dramatic today on Sportscenter. Remember that his primary motivation is to sell Rivals subscriptions.

It’s all about Texas. If Texas sticks around the Big 12(-1) and tries to make it work, it will survive. If Texas pulls out, it will fail. It’s as simple as that.

It would be the Big 12(-2), as Colorado seems ready to jump to the Pac 10 in either scenario (6 team expansion, or 2 team expansion with Utah).
BYU and Air Force rumored to be candidates to backfill.

who do we turn to for recruiting schools into the ACC?
Donahue- his expansion would include big white schools that are way too expensive w/very little upside— G’town & Villanova?
Spaz- blue collar over achievers: West Virginia & Pittsburgh
Then I would hope we turn to neither of those guys … I want Syracuse and UConn.
