The New Orleans Saints moved into the fifth round of the draft, trading their 2011 fourth round pick to the Jaguars to jump up and grab C Matt Tennant in this year's NFL Draft. Tennant was selected 158th first overall in the draft. Congratulations to Tennant.

Here is Tennant's reaction:

"I knew that they were interested. We had a meeting at the combine. But yeah, it was a surprise. Anybody taking me was a surprise. It’s odd hearing your name called. I didn’t know what was going to happen and I was just fortunate that it was."

Tennant started 41 straight games for the Eagles, giving up just one sack in his final 27 games. Tennant was an All-ACC second team selection in his senior year and a finalist for the Rimington Trophy, given to the top center in college football.

Here's the reaction from the SB Nation New Orleans Saints blog Canal Street Chronicles.
