Around SBN: Bill Stewart Dead From Apparent Heart Attack

Our goal now is to find a coach who shares our vision of Boston College basketball. We will begin this search immediately, and I want people to know that this is a very good job. Boston College, and the Atlantic Coast Conference, is seen as a terrific job. A lot of people say that we are in a pro town, which we definitely are, but it can also be a very good and exciting college town. The type of person we are looking for to lead our team is someone who will make us very competitive against local teams and teams in the ACC.

We want a coach who is going to play a very exciting brand of basketball. We want a team that is going to give us everything they have to give while they are out on that floor. We want a coach who will relate to our student body, staff, alumni and fans. Lastly, we want a coach who will continue to recruit outstanding young men who will be successful in the classroom, on the basketball court, and in the community and we know that type of person is out there.

This could also help...

Try scheduling big names OOC, our biggest non-conference game of the year is against a middle-of-the-pack Big Ten school, why not schedule Bruce Pearl and Tennessee? Or some northeast school that’s actually good? Same with football, your not gonna fill your stadium with screaming fans playing Army and Kent State. I wish we would actually play some good competition.

Do you remember BC playing a home and home with Kansas?

Or with Duke before joining the ACC? That’s as big as they get in college basketball. I know time is running out for our schedule to start improving but it is difficult when none of the Big East teams want to schedule you because our Big East departure is still fresh in their minds and you already play the other studs on the east coast in conference

Reverse that. It’s not that Big East schools don’t want to schedule us …
