2011 NFL Pro Bowl Rosters: ACC Teams Lead Way With 18 Selections
The big news of the day is the announcement of the 2011 NFL Pro Bowl Rosters.
First, congratulations to Matt Ryan and Chris Snee on their 2011 NFL Pro Bowl selections. This year's Pro Bowl will be Ryan's first and Snee's third straight selection.
The twelve schools that are now members of the ACC placed 18 players on this year's NFL Pro Bowl rosters, the most of any college football conference. Queue obnoxious conference cheer. "A-C-C, A-C-C."
Miami led the way with eight selections, natch. Boston College, N.C. State and Virginia Tech had two Pro Bowl selections each, while Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia and Wake Forest each had one selection. Clemson, Duke, Florida State and Maryland didn't have any Pro Bowlers this year.
The SEC finished second behind the ACC with 12 selections, followed by the Pac 10 (11), Big Ten (9), Big 12 (7), MAC (5) and Big East (5). Conference USA has 3 Pro Bowlers, while the Mountain West, WAC and Sun Belt each had two selections.
Here is the list of ACC team's 2011 Pro Bowl selections.
Miami (8) -- Andre Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Vince Wilfork, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Brandon Meriweather, Antrel Rolle, Devin Hester

4 of those are from miami, and 6 from the state of Florida.
This team will improve in '10... on its 16-16 conference record over the last 4 years.... after losing 20 games in the last 4 years... after having the 7th worst major-conference defense... after not even winning its own division in the ACC in the last 4.

The U really brings a lot of NFL star power to the table. That’s about it though.

Info
Did you look up this information yourself or get it from a list. I would be interested to see all the pro bowl players by school.
I pulled together the data
Here is the raw data file.

Klempson
Klimpson = ZZZZero NFL pro-bowlers
They recruit well-regarded HS players who fizzle in the ACC
They send a good number of players to the NFL who don’t bloom either!
