Boston College 16, Syracuse 7: Let's Go Fight Hunger
The Boston College offense keeps growing up before our very eyes. Backup running back Andre Williams had a dominant performance in relief of Montel Harris (43 carries, 185 yards, 1 TD) and Rettig had a decent day under center (11-19, 110 yards) as BC took care of Syracuse 16-7.
The BC defense had another good day. Congrats to Luke Kuechly for breaking the single-season school record for tackles. And congrats to Herzlich for finishing his regular season collegiate career with another interception, his tenth career pick.
The win gives the Eagles seven wins on the year, and the chance to win 8+ games for the tenth consecutive season in the bowl game.
Speaking of bowl games, while the win won't do much for BC's bowl positioning, Boise State and Nevada made the race to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl that more interesting last night. With Boise State getting bounced from the BCS bowl picture, it looks like Boise State will stay home to play in the Humanitarian Bowl, Hawaii to the Hawaii Bowl and either Nevada or Fresno State will play opposite BC in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.
Full analysis Monday. Go Eagles!

HD is a dumb dumb
She also said we stood absolutely no chance without Montel.
Thanks for the bulletin board material, HD!
Boston College won’t beat Syracuse — or anyone else for that matter — without leading rusher Montel Harris, who injured his knee in the third quarter against Virginia on Saturday.

Between Fresno and Nevada, I’d have to expect the Kraft bowl guys to not be able to pass up the chance to invite a ranked team in Nevada. That being said, inviting Fresno would sell more tickets…

The two schools are actually pretty much equidistant from San Francisco — 3 hours for Fresno, 3 1/2 for Nevada.
Fresno State has the edge though in enrollment — 22k to 17k.
