Chase Rettig Injury Update

Stay connected for news and updates

BC starting QB Chase Rettig sprained his ankle in the second quarter of Saturday's game against Notre Dame. X-rays taken at halftime were negative and he was later on the sidelines with a boot on his ankle. Spaz had this to say about the injury.

"He was on the field with a boot on his ankle," said the coach. "I mean, that doesn’t look like tomorrow he’ll be jumping around. We just have to wait and see how the night is, and in 24 hours I’ll have a better idea. But it doesn’t look like the ideal situation."

My guess is the coaching staff will ease Rettig back to the field this week. Heights Sports is reporting that we'll see Chase playing this Saturday at N.C. State:

Chase Rettig has told peers that he "will play on Saturday" and that his injury is a minor sprain. The walking boot "was just a precaution."less than a minute ago via Twitter for iPhone

EA's Eric Hoffses is reporting that Rettig will be day-to-day with the ankle sprain. Initial reports from the Globe stated that Rettig may miss a couple of weeks, or the rest of the season, if the injury is more than a sprain. Hopefully we'll see Rettig back under center this Saturday.
