Boston College Depth Chart For Maryland Game

Here's the Eagles updated depth chart for the Maryland game.

The big news is yet another shakeup on the offensive line. This week, Richman moves from starting center to starting left guard, while Mark Spinney gets the start at center. Emmett Cleary is now playing behind Richman at LG, and Richman is listed as the second-string center. Claiborne has moved up to starting RG with Ian White playing behind him. Spaz must gotten an assist on this week's offensive line depth chart after reading the BC blogs.

Hopefully the combination of LT-Castonzo, LG-Richman, C-Spinney, RG-Claiborne, RT-Lapham is what BC needs to be successful in the running game and in pass protection down the stretch.

Shinskie has been dropped from the two-deep. Marscovetra is now playing behind Rettig.

For the first time in several weeks, there's no shakeup in the two-deep linebacking corps. SLB-Herzlich, MLB-Kuechly and WLB KPL are playing in front of SLB-Morrissey, MLB-Thompson and WLB-Divitto. The only change on defense this week is SS Jim Noel gets the start this week after his 2 interception, 1 TD performance against Florida State. Sean Sylvia is listed behind Noel. LeGrande is off the two-deep.

No changes on special teams. Swigert is still listed as the starting punt returner.  BC continues to struggle in the punt return game (now averaging just 4.08 yards per return, down 0.2 from last week's average). That's good for 110th nationally.

Full depth chart after the jump.

Punt Returns

The punt returns haven’t been great but at least we are not fair catching every thing.

Kickoffs, on the other hand ...

BC would be better off taking a knee in the end zone for touchbacks. Help out the average. Averaging just 18.8 yards per return.

Noel

Is this a result of Noel impressing or LeGrande’s suspension extending?

Here’s hoping Noel puts in another impressive performance.

Concussed

You say: “Shinskie has been dropped from the deep”

Shinskie listed as injured (concussion) for MD game. Marsco not necessarily a firm #2 QB

Let’s hope we don’t find out who’s the firm QB2.
