Around SBN: Newcastle Battle Injury Woes Ahead of Tottenham

"So how bad was it? According to Marty Couvillon of cfbstats.com, Shinskie had a pass-efficiency rating of minus-22.20. That's the worst rating in the last five-plus seasons for players with 10 or more pass attempts in a game.

As for bad passing performances this season, Shinskie has company, and it's on his own team. Fellow quarterback Justin Tuggle completed only four of 20 passes in the Eagles' 25-7 loss to Clemson on Sept. 19. One of Tuggle's passes went for a touchdown, but three were intercepted."

wow

Sounds like Reggie Ball against georgie.

I'm about to write you a reality check. Or would you prefer the cold, hard cash of truth?

Not all his fault

As mentioned earlier the wideouts are not explosive enough to beat the elite defensive backs. Nor were they when Matt Ryan played. (Although I think Lamond is going to a good one before he’s all said and done at BC), What Shinske needs to do is seek out his backs to dump the ball to much the same as Matty Ice did. When BC came back against Va Tech with Matt Ryan Andre Callendar had a ton of yards receiving. Hayden and Harris are both capable of making people miss with dump offs in the backfield.

Don't want to pile on

But your average 3rd down was 3rd and 10… you can’t win with no production on 1st and 2nd down.

Second, Matt Ryan had a big time arm, too. I was on the sideline in ATL when he connected on a 40 or so yard bomb to Robinson. No one could touch the football except Robinson. That’s when I knew Falcons needed Matt Ryan.

Hokies also pantsed Miami at home.

If you look at the first half numbers, they were surprisingly similar between the Eagles and Hurricanes. Now I know Miami played in a monsoon, but still. Could be worse, right?
