2009 Boston College Football: Virginia Tech Game Guide

Boston College Eagles (4-1, 2-1 ACC) at No. 5 Virginia Tech Hokies (4-1, 2-0 ACC)

Time: Noon EDT
Date: Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009
Place: Lane Stadium at Worsham Field, Blacksburg, Va.
TV: Raycom Sports
Spread: Boston College +13.5
Weather: Cloudy, chance of rain, high 64 degrees

Boston College looks for its first road win of the season against the 5th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies down in Blacksburg. Hopefully the Eagles last road test is in their rear-view mirror as the Eagles have looked like a completely different team the last two weeks against Wake Forest and Florida State. The bad news? Those games were played in the friendly confines of Alumni Stadium. Can the Eagles handle arguably the toughest team left on their 2009 schedule? Do they have any magic left up their sleeve?

Jeff is in Blacksburg for the game and I will be attending the BC Chicago game watch at Trinity (real life bagpiper performance at halftime? What's not to love!). I'll be checking in online from time to time. Use this post to talk about the game and the rest of the day's college football action.

Go Eagles!

10-0 after 1 quarter

Only redeeming value is that we are picking up the blitz on offense and defense is starting to limit the damage on first down. Larmond Jr. Run your full route. Don’t stop!

Best in the Atlantic...fourth in the Coastal

BC can still go to the ACCCG but the difference in talent between BC and VT is big enough you could drive a Mack Truck through. And as I type this Tech just took a 24 point lead….this game is over.

Indeed.

Glad Spaz already threw in the yellow towel throwing Marscovetra in there. Poor Jeff. He should ask for his money back. Maybe Spaz will pull a Chip Kelly.

wow

wow guys, this was terrible. i dont even know what to criticize. everything was poor. ryan williams killed us. our secondary left guys wide open. missed tackles. couldnt get vt off the field. i mean, vt is a very good team and i didnt necessarily expect a win… i did hope for a pretty competitive game that would leave me thinking “alright, we keep improving like this, we can do some damage the remainder of the year and next year as well.”

one good thing to come of this? at least we got some under-utilized froshburgers some quality PT in a hostile environment against a very good vatech team.

looking forward to your review of the game.

Please Spaz

Just beat Notre Dame! Keep the streak alive, and we can chalk this whole season up to breaking in young players and a new staff.

Ugly...

…yet somewhat expected. As long as we finish above .500 this year I would consider this year successful.

sippin shinskie juice

i wasnt on the shinskie bandwagon, and i thought he looked god awful today. Wondering about his mental toughness, two road games, two pathetic performances. We need a game manager, not a guy who wants to hit the home run everytime.
