Notes

The only change from last week is bumping Maryland down from #7 to #9 this week with the Terps loss to BC.

Georgia Tech again showed everyone else that it is the best team in the conference with its 45-42 win over the Bulldogs. The Jackets came back from 16 points in the second half to beat Georgia for the first time since 1999. Looks like the best ACC team (#15 BCS, #15 AP, #16 USA Today Coaches) won't be playing in the ACC Championship game (lucky Eagles?).

Tom O'Brien and the red hot Wolfpack - winners of 4 straight - might not go bowling after all. An NCAA rule states a 6-6 team cannot fill an at-large bowl bid before a 7-5 (or better) team. With the ACC fielding 10 bowl-eligible teams, NC State might be left out in the cold this December. You have to feel for the Wolfpack in this situation, because I could very well envision a situation down the line where this might happen to Boston College.

Also, how does this rule affect Clemson's bowl selection? While the Tigers are 7-5, only 6 of those wins count towards bowl eligibility.

Speaking of Clemson, they found their next head coach. Jeff will be renewing his season tickets.
